The initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic tested the U.S. healthcare system in unprecedented ways. Providers across the country raced to treat patients as coronavirus cases surged and key supplies, including personal protective equipment and ventilators, dwindled. This situation put the nation’s healthcare system to the test, creating extraordinary clinical, operational, and personnel challenges. However, these challenges also brought competitors together to put the public’s health above each individual organization.

In June, Becker’s and Vituity brought together eight healthcare executives to discuss lessons learned from the first wave of the pandemic and how they see healthcare being permanently changed by COVID-19.
